Winter Olympic Games

I've been so tired these past couple of weeks because of the Olympic Games at Vancouver, Canada. Because of the time difference almost all the sport events has been shown here in the middle of the night and I've been awake to watch a lot of them. And I've got normal school schelude so I've been like a zombie for these past weeks (that probably also explains the fact that I have not read much these past weeks). This is going to be the last weekend of the games, and I am happy and sad at the same time. Finland has sucked big time (not a suprise though) but it does not really matter since the only sport in which I really cheer up for Finland is Men's hockey. Tonight, 10pm Finnish time, Finland will play against USA. The winner of that game goes to the final game against Slovakia or Canada.

My favorite athlete in this olympics has definitely been Gregor Schlierenzauer, an Austrian ski jumper. He is only 20 years old and in these olympics he won two pronze medals and one gold medal. He seems like an amazing person and I really admire him since he is very talented in what he does. I also need give some respect for Simon Ammann, a Swiss ski jumper. He did amazing job and totally deserved those 2 gold medals.

There are only couple of hours remaining before the Finland-USA game starts. Tonight my whole family will gather to our living room and we will cheer up for Finland!

Have you watched the olympic games? Who is your favorite athlete?

  2. This hockey game is a HUGE disaster. I hope Finland does not win bronze from men's hockey since they don't deserve it.

  3. I don't watch the games, but my husband does:) I look like a zombie every day, but that is because I only sleep 5 hours out of 24 and take care of my baby 24/7:)

  4. Schliernerzauer caught my daughter's eye--she thought he was pretty cute. I thought I was an Olympic addict! I suppose I'll end up watching into the wee hours when the Olympics are in Russia and it's all on in the middle of the night here. I would have thought Finland would be good at any sport that's done on ice. Sorry we beat you at hockey!

  5. Haha, Finland totally sucked in these olympics. Well, at least that is what the Finnish media talks about all the time. In reality most of the athletes did better now that before during this season. Schlierenzauer is sooo cute! :DD
