Mr. Darcy's Diary by Amanda Grange

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice for the Darcy's point of view.

This book was really interesting. It was great to read about his feelings for Elizabeth. I loved to read some of the diary texts where he is struggling with his feelings and when he tries to convience himself that it is not good for him to love Lizzy. I especially loved the parts from the time after Darcy's and Lizzy's marriage.

I read another Mr Darcy's diary by Maya Slater and I must say that I liked it a little more than this one by Amanda Grange.

Something Blue by Emily Giffin

When I read 'Something Borrowed' by Emily Giffin I totally fell in love with the characters of the book. I was really happy when I heard that there is a follow up to the story because I was curious to know what happens to Darcy and does Rachel and Dex stick up together for a longer time.

Something Blue tells story of Darcy, the perfect girl who has always got what she wants. Now she has to face the fact: she is alone for the first time in her life... and she is pregnant. The father of the child is Marcus, a guy who worked with Dex, Darcy's ex fiance. Darcy does not know what to do until she gets an idea to contact an old high school friend Ethan who currently lives at London. Darcy moves to London with Ethan and she notices that she has acted wrongly and that she is the one who has destroyed the important relationships in her life. Living with Ethan makes Darcy respect new things; her pregrancy, her new friends and especially the friendship with Ethan. Eventually Darcy fells in love for the first time in her life.

I loved this book as much as I loved 'Something Borrowed'. For the first 300 pages Darcy is as annoying as she is in 'Something Borrowed', but when she moves to London she changes and she becomes a really likeable character.

PS. I can honestly say that the last 2o pages of the book made my cry like a baby!

When I found this book from the local library and read the back cover, I was sure I would dislike Rachel, because she "steals" her best friends fiance. Me and my best friend Ida has been friends like 14 years now, and I was thinking that I could never do that kind of thing to her.

While reading the book my mind changed a lot. First of all, I did not hate Rachel. Someway I felt bad for her. She loves Dex and Dex loves her, but they cannot be together because of Darcy.
I also started to dislike Darcy. All the things the book tells about Darcy and Rachel's past make me feel even more worse for Rachel; Darcy has always been the number one on their friendship and she has always got everything Rachel has wanted without any effort.

Towards the end of the book things just kinda settle down easily, without any big problems. I did not like that. I wish everything would work that easily in life. I really enjoyed this book though and it was pretty fast to read.

Like I promised... here comes some book reviews. :)

I haven't been writing for a while, I'm sorry. I happily noticed that I already have 3 readers, that totally makes me write more. :) I've been busy with work, I still have one week to go.

I have exciting news!!! I am going to London for five days at the end of August (26th to 31st). Someone who lives/has been in London please tell me some great places to see and visit while I'm in the city.

I will write a post about my travel plans when I know more about them. And I have a lot of great books to write reviews about. Hey!

I've not been posting for a long time, I've been kinda busy with work and other stuff.
Last night I was at this HOT NOW magazine's Fashion Party at Onnela. The party was pretty boring so we went to Fiona Night with Ida and had such a fun time at there.

I've been watching the newest adaptation of Charles Dickens' Bleak House, it comes from the Finnish channel number 1 every Sunday. :) I have seen 3 episodes and I really like it, I feel bad for Guppy, he is kinda obsessed with Esther.

Tomorrow I will be working again at the gravyard, it is going to be my 4th day at there. At next Saturday two of my school friends are coming to my house and we are going to have this 'Jane Austen movie maraton'. I am really excited, we are going to have so much fun! We are gonna bake some brownies and make some own Ben&Jerry's ice-cream and other stuff.

But now it is my time to go to sleep because I have to wake up at 5.30am.
