Romantic Movies

Romantic movies are just as dear to me as romantic books. They are movies which make me cry and feel joy. They make my emotions ramble like a thunder.
Tonight I watched 'A Walk to Remember' which made me really think about my favorite romantic movies. Which are the factors that create a good romantic movie? Of course, love is the main factor. Love which is strong, a love which is able to go through all the barriers, a love of a lifetime. I wish someday I could feel like that. I felt like that once, I still do, but my love towards this certain person is impossible. Watching romantic movies gives me relief and hope, they make me believe in love. Sometimes romantic movies can make me bitter, I am jealous because I don't have the same things in my life.

The list of my favorite romantic movies is long; The Notebook, Titatic, A walk to Remember, Clueless, Chasing Liberty, You've got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, Notting Hill, Northanger Abbey, Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park, Cinderella Story, Pretty Women, Princess Diaries 1&2, Just like Heaven, The Holiday, Bridget Jones movies, Twilight, Love Actually, Becoming Jane, Atonement, Gone with the Wind, Piano, North and South, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights...

The Notebook is a movie I watched for a first time with my ex boyfriend while I lived in US. I had never heard about the movie before, neither had my boyfriend. The whole movie impressed me so much. I cried probably the last half and hour of the movie. The most memoriable thing about that movie was that even my boyfriend cried at the end. I had never seen him cry before and I got all emotional when I saw the tears in his eyes.

You've got Mail has remained as a favorite movie of my mother and myself for years. We have seen it so many times, but everytime it gets better and better. We love when the movie comes from TV because we get an excuse to watch it again. I love the whole Pride and Prejudice on 20th century theme. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are excellent together.

Notting Hill was my favorite romantic movie ever. When I was younger I was a huge Hugh Grant fan. I even remember picking up his pictures from the paper recycling cans from our yard. :D I have seen Notting Hill about 50 times and still it is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

Just Like Heaven is one of the movies which makes my cry the most, especially the end. I remember watching it for the first time and crying like a baby on our livingroom. Thank God I was alone at home.

Romantic movies are great way to relax. Watching them is a great way to spend time, especially with your friends. I love having movie nights with my friends. Tomorrow night my two great friends are coming over and we are going to have a movie night. We always prepare food, buy candy and stuff and watch romantic movies. I cannot think a better way to spend time on a Saturday night!

I am interested to hear that which is your favorite romantic movie? Is there a movie you can watch over and over again? Does movies make you cry?

  1. I love romantic movies, too. I'd watch them more often but my darn husband always teases me! I'm watching "Under the Tuscan Sun" right now and it's a good one with lots of mini love stories wrapped into one.
